ESL CURRICULUM MAIN PAGE
The ESL Curriculum at Conversa Language Center provides students with
information about concepts covered in each level, as well as, the materials used
in each level. The ESL Program is divided into
three (3) main Categories. They are:
- Beginning Level
- For students with little or no experience in conversational English. It is
also for "false beginners" who may not have learned English through a
structured course. For information on textbooks for the class, please see
Required Books.
- Intermediate Level
- This level is for those students that have some experience with spoken English
but need more practice with a native English speaker. For information on
textbooks for the class, please see
Required Books.
- Advanced Level
- For students that are near fluent in English, this level provides an
opportunity to focus on detailed aspects of the English language. Some common
areas discussed are slang, idioms, and etc. For information on textbooks for the
class, please see
Required Books.

Each main group is then broken down into sub levels. For example, there is a
Low Beginning Level, a Mid Beginning Level, and a High Beginning Level.
When students first arrive at Conversa Language Center they are given a
placement test that allows them to see and understand why they are at a
particular level.
