Living with a host family is a great
way to learn about American culture and family life, practice English
daily, and make lasting friendships. Many Conversa students have made
lifetime friendships with their host families. Our families are patient
and loving people and are experienced in hosting international students.
If you live with a Conversa Host Family, you will:
1. Eat dinner with the family.
2. Enjoy participating in American
holidays with the family.
3. Attend interesting cultural and
historical places with the family.
4. Go with the Host Family to local
festivals and shopping centers.
5. Practice English when you go
home in the evening and on the weekends.
If you live with a host family, you have responsibilities to your
new family. These include helping with the cleaning, cooking, or
other tasks associated with maintaining the household. Occasionally,
Conversa will place more than one student in the same family. Host
families are available on a limited basis for a minimum of 4 weeks,
after which time the student and the host family mutually decide
whether the student should stay for an extended period of time.
Since the number of host families is limited, apply early.
The cost of staying with a host family
-The cost of staying with a host family is $775 per month or $725 if
you pay for three months or more. To receive this discounted price,
payment must be received three full months in advance.
